Grenadine

Grenadine is a pomegranate syrup used in various drinks, both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. This recipe originates from a Reddit thread.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup (120 ml) pomegranate juice
  • ½ cup (120 ml) white sugar

Procedure

  1. Mix the juice and sugar in a pot or saucepan.
  2. Boil the juice and sugar, stirring constantly, until it becomes a thick and viscous syrup resembling dark honey.
  3. Remove from the heat, and let it cool.
  4. Let it cool.

  • Be careful while mixing the syrup; hot sugar can splash and cause serious burns.
