Peanut Sauce (Saus Kacang)

Saus kacang is a spicy Indonesian peanut sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans of natural peanut butter
  • Water
  • Sambal oelek
  • 1 lemon
  • Salt
  • Soy sauce

Procedure

  1. Mix the peanut butter with water, and stir gently until smooth.
  2. Add some sambal oelek, some lemon juice, salt, and soy sauce. Keep stirring, adjusting the ingredients to get the taste right.

Notes, tips, and variations

  • If using stabilized peanut butter, mix in a small amount of peanut or vegetable oil.
