Müsli

Müsli or muesli is a German cereal mix that is often oat-based with dried fruits. Although it can be bought in several flavors, this is the recipe to make it yourself.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups (720 g) rolled oats
  • 2 cups (480 g) coarse oat bran
  • ¾ cup (180 g) unsweetened dried coconut
  • ⅓ cup (80 g) currants
  • ⅓ cup (80 g) golden raisins
  • ¼ cup (60 g) chopped dried mangoes
  • ⅓ cup (80 g) chopped dried apples
  • ⅓ cup (80 g) chopped dried apricots
  • ½ cup (120 g) chopped almonds
  • ¼ cup (60 g) chopped raw cashew nuts
  • ⅓ cup (80 g) pumpkin seeds
  • ⅓ cup (80 g) sunflower seeds (shelled)

Procedure

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl, then transfer to an airtight container to store.
  2. Serve with milk, yogurt, honey or berries. The dried müsli will keep for up to a month in airtight container.
