This is a recipe for simple cooked rice, but made with oat milk instead of water. It is more nutrient-dense than rice cooked with water, and it has a sweet flavor when made with store-bought oat milk. This rice can be used as a substitute for cooked rice in any recipe.
Ingredients
- 2 cups (480 ml) uncooked rice
- 3½ cups (840 ml) oat milk
Procedure
- Wash the rice and drain the water.
- Pour the oat milk and rice into a pot.
- Put the pot on the stove, and cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes or until foam appears.
- Start stirring the mixture with a spoon, and continue stirring until the mixture boils.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer, stirring, until almost all the liquid is gone.
- Remove from the heat and serve.
Notes, tips, and variations
