Tea Extract

Tea extract is a highly concentrated version of tea used in various recipes. This recipe attempts to emulate various commercial products that condense tea at a 10:1 ratio.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (240 mL) water
  • 1 tea bag or 1 tsp (5 mL) loose leaf tea

Procedure

  1. Boil the water.
  2. Steep the tea bag or loose leaf tea in the water for five minutes.
  3. Remove the tea bag or strain out the tea leaves.
  4. Boil the tea until 90% has evaporated and only 10% of the original volume remains.
