Tea extract is a highly concentrated version of tea used in various recipes. This recipe attempts to emulate various commercial products that condense tea at a 10:1 ratio.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (240 mL) water
- 1 tea bag or 1 tsp (5 mL) loose leaf tea
Procedure
- Boil the water.
- Steep the tea bag or loose leaf tea in the water for five minutes.
- Remove the tea bag or strain out the tea leaves.
- Boil the tea until 90% has evaporated and only 10% of the original volume remains.
